Fitness & Wellness: Steps to a Better You

Steps to a Better You "Steps to a Better You" is an 8 week walking program committed to motivate participants to get active and promote healthy living. Pedometers and log books are provided to accurately measure participant's activity level, log their steps and monitor success.

The main goal of "Steps to a better You" is to get Seneca's community more active and enjoying the benefits of regular physical activity.

Participants who register for the program will receive awesome tools to get them started:

  • Steps to a Better You Manual, outlining strategies to motivate yourself, lose weight, increase daily activity and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle
  • 52 Week Performance Walking Log
  • Easy to use pedometer

Weekly and monthly awards and prizes will be handed out in categories:

  • Most Steps Taken (Monthly)
  • Longest Distance Walked (Single Event)
  • Highest Number of Group Walkers (clubs, programs, classes, teams etc)

By the end of 8 weeks of using "Steps to a Better You", users will experience the following:

  • Be on their way to forming the habit of walking
  • Be able to walk faster and longer
  • Show signs of improved muscle tone and increased energy
  • Weight loss and increased cardiovascular health
  • Learn that walking is fun, easy and convenient
  • Implement other healthy living habits
  • Understand the importance of staying active
