STARDUST: Book Cover
Stardust is a concept I came up with during the summer of 2007.
It grew out of a series of projects I did for a Photography Nightschool Course I took back in 1998. To sum it up, working with a model takes a lot of patience and professionalism on both photographer and model.
Based on the whimsical feel of the subject matter, I came up with Startdust-'It's a Supernatural Delight' (this phrase was lifted from that 70's song, 'Dancing in the Moonlight' by King Harvest ). I decided to show it off as a 'Cirque Du Soleil', type of show, featuring our two main characters the 'Clown' and 'Ringleader'.
The enitre photoshoot was shot on 35mm SLR Nikon camera, on colour slides. Each slide was then scanned and then manipulated in Photoshop and layed out in InDesign. This was a step away from what I normally design, and I'm very proud of the end result!
